Urine For a Treat

Missing teeth? Your answer might be urine.

Chinese researchers have been working on turning cells within urine into cells that grow into something that resembles human teeth.

Currently the process has been tried on mice to minimal success. The major issues that the scientists are facing is that the new stem cells are only about 40% as durable and tough as actual human teeth and they are running a success rate of 30%.

But some scientists are opposed to this practice because in their opinion urine isn't the best source of stem cells and secondly it is filled with bacteria and there is a major risk for cross contamination.

I for one am a big proponent of keeping urine away from my mouth.
