-Starting off with a major announcement on Friday.

It is rumored that reigning welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre might be retiring after making an announcement, saying that he is making an announcement.

But it is on good authority that not only is GSP not retiring but he might even be announcing that he will be fighting on the first ever card in Quebec City. All of this is just rumors right now except from the President Dana White told Sportsnet that he guarantees GSP won't be retiring,

"that's not true. He's not making any announcement on Friday, this thing was planned for months. He's going up to the opening of a mall. He's signing autographs with fans and he's doing 10 minutes with the media. People were talking about he called a press conference and all these other things. I'm not saying he might not having something to say in these 10 minutes, he might, but it's no crazy announcement like everyone was saying earlier."

But White started to soften on his stance and went into fuller detail about GSP and his possibly retirement,

"It's tough to say. Georges St-Pierre never said to me, 'I'm thinking about retiring.' The retirement word never came out of his mouth. Normally, when guys even think about retiring in this sport, you probably should. This isn't the type of sport where you're wishy washy one way of the other. You're either in or you're out. I don't think he's going to retire. I do know that he wants some time off, which is an issue, because he just had over a year off for his ACL surgery and recovery. We'll see. I'm scheduled to talk to Georges St-Pierre on Thursday when he gets back from his vacation. We'll see where we're at."

-It's been over a year since we last saw former welterweight and lightweight champion BJ Penn inside the octagon. But don't fret, you will be seeing lots of Penn in the upcoming months as he will be coaching the Ultimate Fighter opposite his rival Frankie Edgar.

In TUF tradition the two will square off at the end of the season. Sure we have already seen this dance a couple times before but there will be a few things that are different. First and foremost, for the first time in the UFC BJ Penn will drop down to the Featherweight division to host a fight with Edgar. Secondly, Penn will be training outside of Hawaii, in fact he will be heading to Brazil to train with Featherweight champion Jose Aldo. Aldo confirms,

"B.J. is coming in January to know the gym and help us, he is going to the U.S. again, and then he’ll come back to train with us all for the rest of our camps. I never trained with him. He was already a black belt when I was on the team, so I never had the chance to train with him. But I’ll have this honor now.""

Aldo meets Ricardo Lamas at UFC 169 on February 1st, while Penn and Edgar will hook'em up sometime in the Spring of '14.

-No rest for the wicked,

Junior Dos Santos believes he should fight the winner of the Josh Barnett against Travis Browne who meet on the New Year's card opposite of Tate/Rousey and Weidman/Silva 2.

JDS believes its the most logical move,

"I believe it would (make sense to fight Barnett or Browne next),the heavyweight division is in a great moment right now. We have great fighters, and you never know what’s going to happen in a heavyweight fight. One punch can change everything. I don’t know what’s next for me, and I don’t choose opponents. I’ll be ready for anyone, but I believe my next opponent can be either Josh Barnett or Travis Bowne.""
