Man Apologies For Getting Drunk and Swimming To America

47-year-old Canadian John Morillo has apologized after an international incident that occurred early this week.

Morillo on a dare chugged right beers and then swam from Canada to the American side of the Detroit River because his friends said he couldn't do it. Yes, peer pressure still happens to people in their forties.

After he made it to the American side of the river he was taken into custody by the police. Although he is apologetic he does want one thing to be clear. He made it across.

He spoke to the Windsor Star,
"If I’m going to be in the paper, I’d at least like them to say I actually made it, even though I got in trouble and everything. I gotta pay fines and stuff. But I don’t want it to sound like I didn’t make it, because then my buddies are going to say 'ha, ha, you didn’t make it.' Because that was the whole thing, to show them I could do it."

To make things worse Windsor authorities have banned Morillo from all waterfront city property and he will be fined $5,000 (which isn't too bad because he could have been fined upwards of $25,000) but the worst part is that his mom is super pissed at him, in fact she even hung up the phone on him.
